If I could give a lower rating, I would have. I took my 2015 Ford Taurus into Willands on September 19, 2024. I needed the part under the dashboard replaced that allowed heat focus to be changed (for example from defrost, to het on the floorboard. It is an expensive fix. I also asked how to shut off the "oil change needed" light...and I was told that I had to purchase an oil change to find out ($130) they couldn't just explain the very easy process? I purchased the oil change, and that along with the work under the dashboard was going to come to a total of $1500 (tax included) I told them to do the work, AND that I had a coupon that I had received in the mail and I would be using it. And Erik said, "okay." I picked up my vehicle the next day...expecting that with my coupon, I was going to get $87 off my billing. To my surprise my total bill was $1,536.25 I looked over the billing very carefully. I finally found my $87 in very small print: "PAID OTHER $87" I did NOT get $87 off my bill. It was a scam. I should have gotten a clue when they refused to be decent and tell me how to deactivate (reset) the change oil light unless I purchased an oil change. Ferndale is my hometown. I will never set foot in this shady business again. I learned my lesson the hard way. Don't follow my path.

Car was making a weird noise so took it to Willands for a diagnosis. They gave us a list of issues and $3,500 later we picked it up and drive 1 mile home. The very next morning the car was making an entirely different and much louder noise. We took it back and they told us we needed new brakes and calipers even though that was never in the original diagnosis list. They charged us another $1,700. No way was this a coincidence. Never again will we go there.

I appreciate the quality service. Willands conducted a thorough vehicle inspection, and identified the issue quickly, along with some other future repairs. It was determined that my vehicle needed a new battery, spark plugs/wires/distributor and air filter. However for a fairly standard tune up, charging $1500 is ludicrous. $300 for a battery replacement? $400 in labor alone for spark plugs and wires? This job takes less than an hour. Give me a break. I will never return to this business.

Had a positive experience. Estimate and schedule were in line of final delivery. Also discussed additional work that should be done. Overall, staff seemed to be knowledgeable about the vehicle. It is a Mercedes-Benz AMG model and many shops are unaware of the unique systems of that car.

Above and Beyond!!!!!!! My drive line fell off my transfer case on the way home from work. Towed it in after closing on a Wednesday and it was fixed and ready for pickup on Friday. I am very mechanically inclined but I was working and wanted an expert opinion on weather I had bent the drive shaft. I have a 1989 classic Ford Bronco so parts are not always the easiest to find. The repair was not at all difficult, but they did a whole check of the vehicle and let me know Everything they thought should be addressed. Invaluable information!! Super fast, knowledgeable, and Super Fair with pricing. Could not Recommend More!!! I found my new local repair shop and business!!!!

It was a cold rainy Saturday afternoon when I found myself staring at a control arm, bass hammer in one hand, pickle fork in the other, fuming with rage. It had been 4 hours, I'd put my full bodyweight onto the pickle fork only for it to slip, knuckles scraping on the cold wet concrete. The brass hammer had smashed into my left hand more times than I care to admit, enough was enough. I re-tightened everything with old worn parts and decided to let the professionals handle this one. I've always done my own maintenance, everything from oil changes to suspension upgrades, to engine rebuilds. But as I grow older, I have less and less time for things that I actually enjoy (which doesn't include taking a brass hammer to a control arm with every ounce of my energy), the team at Willands gives me some of that time back. They're reliable, trustworthy, competent, and I'm thankful to have found them.

Worst experience ever. Thought having an appointment would make getting my oil changed faster, was told it would be an hour and a half. When I showed up two hours later was told it would be 20 more minutes while they waited for my headlight to show up. Came back a half hour later and still not ready. Left without a headlight being replaced, an expensive oil change and no apologies for such shitty service.

Honest guys! Les Schwab said I desperately needed new brakes so I got a quote, called Willands also for a quote and Willands came in under Les Schwab. They also came considerably under for tires. They come in under for oil changes compared to Jiffy and Lynden Lube. They get stuff done quickly and l'm on my way quickly. I go to them for all my car needs now that my husband is not able to do car work.

Always such a great experience, all the employees are awesome. I took my expedition in for an alignment this morning, didn't take too long either i chilled in the lobby, while the work was being done. Amazing, superb, 10/10. I have never, and I mean never had such an outstanding automotive maintenance experience in my life. Marcus and his technician Phillip both provided an absolutely top notch service from the second I called on the phone to when I drove away. (Same day mind you) These folks go above and beyond, exhibiting great technical expertise and providing explanations and recommendations in a way that even a non technical person could comprehend and make an informed decision. The software they currently use is quite interesting, where they go to the effort of taking pictures before, after and of all issues on the vehicle. This information is then scanned and processed in an electronic invoicing system right to your finger tips via email, text or website. This whole process leaves zero gaps in accountability and also gives the end user peace of mind. I'll end with repeating my first statement, amazing, superb, 10/10.

I paid over 400 dollars for them to tell me my Transmission was bad in my Suburban+ 1 oil change in my Toyota Corolla. When I brought my car home from oil change, all the corrosion on the battery posts they scraped off was all over my engine cover and wires and hoses under the hood. Still had tools left behind from mechanic under the hood. Also hood latch holder was broken off and gone. I only give 1 star because the gal behind the desk was a sweet heart and really nice. The work was overpaid for tho. A 200 dollar oil change to spread all my battery post corrosion under my hood on everything, and a broken off hood holder that I have never even had problems with until now because its straight up gone! Where is it? Im still wondering.

This review is long over due as we have been using Willands for our auto repair needs for years. Everything from basic maintenance to performance upgrades to “what the heck is that noise?!” The staff has been excellent with all of our vehicles and has always treated us with the upmost respect when explaining issues that are unclear to our non mechanic brains. The service is always timely and any bumps in the road are always communicated. We also appreciate the extensive record keeping that is done as well, including pictures and detailed information. I couldn’t tell you if the pricing is comparable to elsewhere as what we pay at Willands is well worth the expertise, friendly service from all the staff and the peace of mind that our vehicles and our kids vehicles are in good hands.

I took my car here for an oil change after getting recommendations from my neighbors. A different auto shop recommended that I also needed to replace my brake pads and rotors, but the folks at Willands said I didn’t need any any expensive maintenance just yet because I have really low mileage on my car. Tried to tell me my catalytic converter needed replaced and it DID NOT. When I asked if I could have the old cat they said NO, which alarmed me enough to get a second opinion, which turned out to be a really good idea because the cats weren't the issue! You guys need to listen to your potential clients better -some of us know what we're talking about! Never again, sorry. (Added below 10/28 in response to reply) Okay, to be fair, I do not think you're "crooks' I just didn't get good info from employees maybe, and was informed several times that your mechanics "don't talk to customers". This made me extremely uncomfortable beings as there is a direct correlation between the work to be done and my livelihood/safety and I was not feeling any compassion from your rep. Don't know if it was just a bad day for the person, but regardless, it's an upsetting thing to hear the person(s) wrenching on my ride either don't want to or aren't allowed to talk to me. Then to complicate things further, I was told I could NOT have the cat, not that I could have it if I paid the core on the new part for "x" amount more dollars. The estimate was $2200 for just cat replacement and online I learned a new installed cat on my ride ranged from $500-$1400, installed, and this included genuine Ford cat +installation for $1400. (That is with no core) So, please explain this. To be fair, I do know you've done other work on the van very well, albeit kind of steep on the man hours (when compared to average hours for that job-thank you google for price comparison information). Look, I don't want to slander anyone, I'm just telling you some of your people need to work on customer service, giving correct estimate info, and possibly staying on task to keep man hours in range of "factory spec". Let it be known that this establishment is a solid member of the community with a great amount of respect from the community -so please, be kind to us esp when we need it. Thanks for listening.

I really like Wilands in Ferndale they fixed my car within one day and even offered me a loaner vehicle while they made the repairs.While they were diagnosing my engine they kept me posted with pictures and quotes so I genuinely knew what was going on the entire time they were repairing the car. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and had great customer service her name is Amber and she is very helpful. I especially like the fact that Wilands has a payment program for the more costly repairs which is very helpful as well. I’m happy with my overall experience when it comes to Wilands. I have a peace of mind knowing that they have a 24 month warranty on any of their work parts included. I will definitely taking my car here from now on!

I unfortunately ran into some car trouble on my way to work last week. I had heard some really great things about Willand's, so I gave them a call. They were able to diagnose the issue within about an hour and within 24 hours I had my truck back and ready to go. It was a spendy fix but that was to be expected as I had to replace the radiator and thermostat. Everyone was very helpful, and they will be the first place I call whenever I have any issues in the future! Shout out to Erik at the front desk. He did an amazing job.

I have been to 2 different shops to diagnose a headlight issue with no answer and a lot of money spent. So when I called, I gave them all the information that was already done. Granted it took them longer then they thought they didn't stop or give up like the other repair shops did, needless to say I am happy to finally have a headlight thanks to the tech that spent the time troubleshooting and trying everything to fix it right. I can not say enough how happy I am with the service I received and the more then fair cost ant the end of the project.

I came in to get my vehicle assessed for possible engine block damage and I parked around back of their shop since there was no parking up front, one of the mechanics [jonathan] came out and started yelling at me to move. As I tried reasoning with him, telling him I was going up front to discuss my vehicle he started threatening me, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. Very unprofessional.

Serpentine belt off. Wallen’s assessed problem and told me water pump was frozen. Estimate would be over 1k dollars. Then informed me my front brake pads needed replaced. This was curious, why did Wallen’s take off my tires when assessing for a Serpentine belt problem? When I priced the parts Wallen’s said they needed for the repair, water pump, tensioner belt, belt, anti-freeze, they were generally half the price Wallen’s quoted. When I asked Eric about this he stated they “charge a little bit more because they guarantee their work for two years.” After getting the truck back the total bill for a water pump, serpentine belt, tensioner, lower radiator hose ( no one mentioned this until the bill came), and a radiator flush was just shy of 1300 dollars. I feel Wallen’s up-charged for parts, tried to add work not necessary for this job, and charged labor for the tensioner and belt that had to be done when accessing the water pump. In short I won’t be going back and I won’t be recommending this shop to anyone. This job should have cost 6 to 8 hundred dollars. Instead it was 1300 and I feel ripped off.

I had a great experience working with Willard’s. I have an older 4 runner that I recently bought. They were able to diagnose the vehicle for problems and ask me what I wanted repaired. I had an oil leak repaired and few other problems. I would definitely go to them in the future. Thanks

This place is amazing. They treat everyone that walks in like family and they are always smiling and having a good time. I've seen them deal with some difficult customers, and they always remain professional even after they leave. They explain everything that is going on and if you have questions (and I asked A LOT) they will explain everything to you to the best of their ability. Do NOT take your car here - my car left in worse condition than when it went in. I took my Nissan Versa in to for engine problems and had to take my car back multiple times to fix the work they did. Ended up taking my car elsewhere to fix work they did and they refused any kind of refund on faulty parts. Do not take your car here, especially if you are a woman. They take advantage of people who do not know much about cars. If I could put zero stars I would.

My sons vehicle dumped out all of it's coolant one evening on the way home from work. Willands was able to get the vehicle in quickly and had it back on the road the next day. I've had sorted experiences with local mechanics but saw that these guys had great reviews so thought it was worth a shot. We were not disappointed. Our family will definitely use them in the future. They were friendly, transparent, patient, and efficient. The least we could do is add another good review!

Willands has been my go-to mechanics since my first car over 14 years ago. They replaced my alternator back in December and there was an issue with it, so I took it in and they replaced it under warranty. I also asked them to do an oil change since I neglected to do that on time. They completed both before 2PM same day. They always do a great job and always give me good advise. Highly recommend them!

Excellent service. My car was shuddering when I drove it, with the check engine light coming on and off occasionally, so I took it in to Willand's Tech Auto, and they looked into the issue for me. It is my only car and I'm new to Washington State and do not know many people, they let me use their courtesy car free for the first day. They unfortunately didn't have good news about my car (transmission issues). I have to move in a month and this news was crushing. They handled it with the grace and kindness that I needed in that moment. They also did not charge me for anything. Very honest and transparent auto repair shop! I highly recommend.

Well since you ask… it took two and half hours for an oil oil and filter change which is Ridiculous. No oil filter there to put on and then waited almost an hour for it to show up. Quoted one price and then charged another with the excuse that everything is going up. Oil on the steering wheel so all in all I guess you could categorize this as a cluster.

I’m pretty sensitive when it comes to automotive shops because while I myself am not a mechanic, I’ve done a lot of work myself in my cars and am generally very knowledgeable about my vehicles. This ensures that when a mechanic tries to overcharge me for something or mislead me about something, I know it. Willand’s has yet to disappoint me in this area, and despite the generally astronomical prices of the per hour cost of auto work, had quoted me fairly. More importantly to me, however, is the friendly service. There is a pervasive sense of superiority and contempt from most in this industry towards their customers, and even a whiff of it will ensure I walk away from them. Willand’s has always had kind and helpful service and it’s refreshing to know I won’t be talked down to or sneered at when communicating with them. For my most recent appointment, I didn’t have anyone to pick me up or drop me off and Patrick was kind enough to do it free of charge even though I don’t live in Ferndale. That’s not something that is common, and speaks volumes about how Willand’s doesn’t just want another customer, they want people to come back. I, for one, will be coming back and I have no hesitation toward recommending others do the same.

I have an old beater of a car and the exhaust system was completely effed, but these guys did a really thorough job of analyzing the problem and getting it fixed. The first was way more reasonable thank the other shop I looked into quoted me, and they were really patient with me while I figured out my next steps. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. 😊

Took my vehicle in, they looked at it quick then said it wasn't worth them fixing and told me to come get it. When I got there they had it off there property on the side of the street next to another business. Seem rather rude. Rude like the lady on the phone was. Would never go there or recommend them.

Wilands tech Auto, If you like honest professional fantastic quality workmanship call Wilands Tech Auto. They fixed my transmission in my Jetta, The bill was more than fare. They also had a loaner car ! No games just great mechanics, and a real home town feel.

Terrible! Maybe if you have a Bronco take it to these guys as they are cowboys! Willands provided poor service and worse workmanship. When I complained to the owner about the poor state our car was left in he blatantly lied and tried to claim that it wasn't them ( they had fixed a door of a vehicle and put it back together wrong, claiming that they had found it that way and just returned it the way they had found it, jeez, thanks! What a guy! I took it elsewhere to be rectified as there is no way I'd let them touch any vehicle again). Save yourselves the aggravation and go elsewhere.

The new owners are amazing, we took our VW to another shop and they said it would be twice the price and take two weeks. Willands did the work in 2 days! Definitely recommend them.
